The Beginning

Date Unknown - Naughty Dog seals a contract with Universal Interactive Studios (currently known as Vivendi Games). According to the contract, Naughty Dog sold Crash Bandicoot to Universal before he was even created - they had a three-project deal with Universal (which ended up being Crash 1, 2 and 3), and they'd own whatever character Naughty Dog made. Although Crash Team Racing was created by Naughty Dog, it was no longer included in that contract (it was also Naughty Dog's last Crash game).
